Whether you are a looking for a pleasant place for a short stroll, a more energetic walk or even a long distance challenge, the Forth & Clyde canal path offers a great choice of canal walks.

Scottish Waterways Trust Walks
Leaflets are available for the Forth & Clyde canal in West Dunbartonshire, Glasgow, North Lanarkshire, and Auchinstarry, and also for the Monkland Canal in North Lanarkshire.
Thomas Muir Trail
The Heritage Trail is 18km in length from Clachan of Campsie, Lennoxtown to Huntershill, Bishopbriggs and offers visitors a great walking or cycling experience.
West Highland Way
John Muir Way
The John Muir Way stretches 134 miles or 215 km across Scotland’s heartland, running between Helensburgh in the west through to Dunbar on the east coast and Muir’s birthplace.
It’ll take you 9-11 days to walk and about half that by bike.
